U.S. airlines in June turned in their worst on-time performance since December, the Department of Transportation said Tuesday. The airlines had a combined on-time arrival rate of 76.1 percent. Alaska Air Group Inc., operator of Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air, said Thursday its second-quarter profit plunged 53.9 percent to $29.1 million as sales slipped 9.3 percent.
